In light of the new restrictions put in place by the UK Government on 23 March 2020, Cedars House is now closed to all visitors until further notice. We are currently not taking any new bookings for arrival before 1st July 2020 - this date may have to change should the current restrictions continue.
If you have a booking with us up to 30 June 2020 and booked direct with us through this website, we are allowing you to change your booking to a later date, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for guidance on how to change the dates of your booking.
Whilst there is no penalty for cancelling a reservation and re-booking at later date, you will have to pay any additional rental if you select a more expensive week / weekend. If you wish to cancel your reservation without booking new dates, we recommend you refer to your travel insurance policy.

Cedars House offers large self-catering accommodation in Whitchurch, Herefordshire. Situated in the Wye Valley near Symonds Yat, we are centrally located between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, so are within easy reach of the Forest of Dean, South Wales and The Golden Valley. The local area is ideal for those looking for great walking, cycling and canoeing, equally it's a fantastic spot for peace and relaxation too. Cedars House is a great venue for those planning a more sophisticated hen party, family get together or group reunion. We welcome families with children and have a couple of travel cots and high chairs available. You can bring up to two well behaved dogs with you when you stay at Cedars House.
Cedars House is a lovely eight bedroom Georgian house, part of an old asylum, set in the beautiful Wye Valkey, minutes from the renowned Symonds Yat. Located on the Herefordshire side of the border between England and Wales, the towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth are both within easy reach.
We welcome families to Cedars House for their annual holiday in beautiful Herefordshire. We have travel cots and high chairs available for very small guests - please request when making and enquiry or booking. There is a selection of games and childrens DVD's at the house to help entertain youner members of your family.
The house is ideal for hen parties with a relaxed or vintage theme. The many successful hen weekends that have taken place in Cedars House have included murder mystery weekends and vintage tea parties.
The interior has been lovingly restored by award-winning textile and fashion designer Jan Knibbs and her husband, Jonathan. It is brimming with vintage finds from her extensive collection in a romantic, shabby chic style, making it perfect for a vintage hen party or all female gathering for any special occasion. Alternatively, it would be perfect for a family get together.
Altogether, Cedars House offers a pretty, welcoming hall, an impressive drawing room with plenty of comfortable seating, a dining room where up to 20 guests can all eat together, a farmhouse style kitchen with a small dining table and a comfortable TV lounge.
Upstairs there are eight pretty bedrooms, one offering a king-size bed and a single day bed with a further pull out single, three with double beds, two with matching vintage single beds, one with singles which can be converted to a king-size and one with a single and a fold-up bed. There are two bathrooms (one of which is en-suite) and three en-suite shower rooms.
It is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, on the edge of the village of Whitchurch, within easy walking distance of the local shop, various pubs, tourist attractions and stunning countryside.
Whitchurch is located on the A40 between Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye and is easily accessible from the motorway network, making Cedars House the perfect meet up point for all your guests.
There are many activities and historical sites with 30 minutes of Cedars House. Just ten minutes drive away from the house you will find Goodrich Castle, a wonderful ruinous Norman medieval castle.
Due to our location within the village of Whitchurch, Cedars House is not suitable for large, noisy birthday parties.
Jan and Jonathan Knibbs welcome you to Cedars House which they have lovingly restored over the years. They married in 1992 and bought the house a few years later. It provided a lovely family home for their children Jake and twins Alice and Matt and gave them the space they needed to run around and play many games such as "hide and seek".
Jan and Jonathan Knibbs have owned Cedars House for nearly 25 years and look forward to welcoming you to this historic property.
Although we have a vintage twist, Cedars House offers some of the modern facilities you need and expect whilst on your holiday. The house offers free WiFi, so you can remain in touch throughout your visit. We also have TV with Freeview and a DVD player.
Cedars House is available from February to December every year and accommodates up to 20 guests in eight pretty bedrooms. There is parking for approx. 8 cars on site.
Cedars House is an ideal venue for family reunions and other special occasions.
